Gorgeous transferware plate in the ‘Faulkbourn Hall’ pattern, made by Andrew Stevenson, most likely for the American market. Lovely scene with livestock in the foreground.  From the Transferware Collector’s Club: “The manor of Faulkbourne was given to Hamo Dapifer by his uncle, William the Conqueror, after the Norman Conquest. The Hall shown here was built in 1440 and is a red-bricked building with turrets. It incorporates an earlier Norman tower. This privately owned house has been described as "the most impressive 15th century brick mansion in this country".
