Apparently this is an unusual piece! Back in the day, different foods had their own dishes, and this one was designed for asparagus. It's in wonderful antique condition - gold is nearly entirely intact. It makes a great conversation starter, a table or shelf dish for odds and ends (or rings), or actually asparagus. Approx. 9x5x5. May date back to late 1800s.
